Role Overview
This position sits within the regional finance leadership structure and carries responsibility for the accounting and reporting agenda across a portfolio of Asian entities and project operations.

The role will oversee the integrity and delivery of financial reporting while providing leadership on accounting governance, technical matters, controls, and finance process improvements. Beyond BAU reporting, the position will also work closely with global and regional stakeholders on business expansion, transactions, restructuring activities, and other strategic finance matters.

Key responsibilities

Provide overall leadership for the regional financial accounting and reporting function, covering multiple entities and project operations
Take ownership of the monthly and periodic closing process, ensuring reporting is delivered accurately and within agreed timelines
Oversee the preparation and review of financial information in line with Group requirements, IFRS, local accounting regulations, and statutory obligations
Evaluate the implications of new accounting and regulatory developments and translate these into practical actions for the business
Identify areas of accounting and reporting risk and implement appropriate controls, policies, and processes to address them
Drive initiatives to streamline and harmonise finance processes across countries, including the adoption of technology and automation solutions
Work with finance and technology teams to improve ERP utilisation, reporting processes, and data quality
Provide finance and accounting input into transactions and strategic projects, including acquisitions, financing exercises, restructuring, and corporate activities
Partner with stakeholders when entering new markets or establishing operations in additional jurisdictions
Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders on accounting, reporting, and control matters
Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and ensure consistent application of Group accounting policies
Build and develop a strong regional FA&R team through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and effective resource allocation
Work collaboratively with senior finance and business leaders across different countries and functions
Take ownership of special projects and other finance-related initiatives as required

Role requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent will be an advantage
12+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience gained within a multinational, regional, or Big 4 environment
Strong track record managing financial accounting and reporting activities across multiple entities or countries
Solid technical knowledge of IFRS and relevant local accounting requirements
Background in energy, infrastructure, offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, or other project-driven industries would be advantageous
Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting governance, statutory reporting, and audit processes
Experience supporting corporate transactions, M&A, financing, restructuring, or business expansion projects is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to improve finance processes through standardisation, automation, digital tools, and ERP optimisation
Previous experience managing and developing finance teams across different locations or markets
Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with confidence engaging senior management, auditors, and cross-functional teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex accounting topics for non-finance stakeholders
Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Commercially minded with the ability to look beyond technical accounting requirements and understand wider business implications
Comfortable operating in a dynamic, international environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
