We are now looking for a Director, Special Events to lead this team into its next phase of growth. You will oversee a team of Project Managers, Executives, and Associates, champion client excellence and retention, and own the commercial performance and year-on-year growth of your event portfolio. This role reports directly to senior leadership and, given the nature of the industry, will occasionally require weekend work.

WhatYou'll Own

Lead the Team: Oversee and develop a team of Project Managers, Executives, and Associates, working closely with creative and production teams.
Manage Internal Stakeholders: Build strong working relationships across departments and peer leadership, ensuring alignment and follow-through beyond your immediate team.
Champion Client Excellence: Build long-term trust by delivering high standards of service, proactive solutions, and consistent results.
Drive Commercial Growth: Own P&L for your event portfolio and ensure sustainable profitability with year-on-year growth.
Strengthen Operations: Implement clear processes and workflows that enable efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Grow Talent and Standards: Mentor the team, raise creative and delivery benchmarks, and nurture a culture of accountability and innovation.

WhoYou Are

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the events industry.
Demonstrated track record of driving year-on-year revenue growth and scaling client portfolios.
Must have led in-house teams in the past.
Experience with complex stakeholder environments (institutional, government, or multinational clients) will be a plus.
Strong commercial acumen with full P&L oversight, able to balance strategic vision with operational detail.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders, resolve challenges, and lead high-stakes conversations.
Forward-looking, open to innovation and new technologies (including LLMs) to enhance efficiency and creativity.
Comfortable working across regional and cross-border teams.
