Job Description

This role will lead and manage all litigation matters for UOB (Thai) Public Company Limited, ensuring legal compliance and protecting the bank's interests across a diverse range of legal disputes.

Oversee and manage all aspects of litigation, including commercial disputes, regulatory actions, employment claims, and other legal proceedings involving the bank.
Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.
Supervise and direct external law firms, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.
Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and business units on potential litigation risks and implications.
Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and due diligence related to ongoing and potential litigation.
Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
Represent the bank in court, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution forums as required.
Negotiate settlements and resolutions to minimize financial exposure and reputational risk.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the banking industry and litigation, advising on necessary adjustments to bank policies and procedures.
Manage litigation budgets and track expenses effectively.
Develop and deliver training sessions on litigation avoidance and best practices to relevant departments.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputable university. Master's degree (LL.M.) is a plus.
Admitted to practice law in Thailand.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation, with a significant portion gained within the banking or financial services industry, or at a top-tier law firm specializing in financial sector litigation.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.
In-depth knowledge of Thai laws and regulations relevant to banking, finance, and commercial disputes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
