Position Description:
As a SIG Software Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. you will work as part of the Applications Software Engineering team, and be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications - primarily GUI.Development will be doneusingJava.You may be asked to helpcreate software requirements and specification documents following standard department practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Help create software requirements for software projects

  • Design and implement applications as needed for others within SIG andotherend user customers

  • Perform complete testing of each release prior to deployment

  • Working directly withsoftwareengineering peers to understand and fix issues

  • Identify and address root cause problems

  • Quickly adopt and integratenew tools, systems, and functionality

  • Participate in continuous improvement of software design and implementation

  • Develop and maintain software and documentation

  • Promptly respondto inquiries or issues

  • Assist in system installation and configuration

  • Provide end user training when necessary

Experience:

  • Knowledge in developing and supporting applications for the Windows and Linux Operating Systems

  • Knowledge in designing and coding applications using object oriented principles

  • Knowledge in coding and supporting applications written with non-scripting languages, primarilyJava


  • Knowledge in designing relational databases (I.e.MongoDB,PostgreSQL, MySQL)

  • Knowledge in developing SQL commands and stored procedures

  • Knowledge in web design and web frameworks (I.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSF, PHP)

  • Familiarity with IDEs

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills(English)

  • Effectively multi-task between projects

  • Effectively collaborate with other Micron team members

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent foreign education in Computer Science or Software Engineering
