Business Unit Overview:
Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) implements, maintains, upgrades and extends the applications that Oracle needs to meet for the rapidly changing business requirements and provides a showcase for Oracle%27s products.
Oracle Applications Labs influences the direction and strategy for Oracle%27s products through collaborative and often pioneering involvement in business applications.
The OAL New Initiatives Customer Relationship Management Systems (OAL NI CRMS) team collaborates with Business partners and Product Development teams to provide solutions that help drive changes and business transformation, and also help Oracle to be successful in the Cloud.
The OAL Business Intelligence team designs, develops, and implements Oracle’s business intelligence systems and corporate information warehouses. OAL BI makes Oracle more competitive and profitable by putting actionable intelligence into the hands of executives, managers and staff throughout the company. It is at the forefront of implementing advanced business intelligence technologies. OAL NI CRMS BI in the intersection of OAL NI CRMS and OAL BI is responsible for creating and deploying sales and marketing related BI solutions for Oracle’s sales and marketing organizations all over the world using Oracle and open source technologies.
Job Description:
We are looking for a self-driven, creative, agile and experienced data engineer in the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence field to join the global OAL NI CRMS BI team.

As a BI technical specialist in Oracle Applications Labs’ Business Intelligence team, you will have the opportunity to drive business success by deploying some of the newest and most exciting BI technologies.
Market leading Oracle products like Exalytics, Exadata, ODI, Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, BI Applications, Golden Gate, and Endeca extended with selected open source and Big Data technologies give us the capability to offer unique and outstanding solutions to our business users.
We follow best practices in developing and implementing large scale, best-in-class business intelligence applications for Sales, Marketing, Alliances, Order Management, Financials, Supply Chain, and so on.
Though we are looking for candidates with strong technical skills in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, ETL tools, and Data Integration, the best candidates must demonstrate ability to learn quickly, adapt to change easily and see it as an opportunity, able to see requirements and solutions globally and act in implementation quickly aligned with the team.
Team members will design, develop, test, and deploy business intelligence applications to help meeting the needs of Oracle’s business organizations.

Job duties:
  • Participate in the preparation of project proposals, develop system and user documentation and train end-users.
  • Analyse business requirements, propose design solutions and technology selections
  • Develop DW and BI solution including technology selections, data modelling, ETL, business reports and analyses, data visualizations and beyond.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses based on available DW data as needed.
  • Promote and demonstrate team work and best industry practices.
  • Continuously learn emerging new technologies and seek for the possibilities of their adaptation in order to improve continuously the technology stack we use.

Required skills/experience:
  • Knowledge of the foundations and principles of relational technologies
  • Knowledge of and experience in data modelling foundations (e.g. ER, Relational, Multidimensional, UML)
  • 2 years of experience delivering BI solutions in a medium to large corporate IT setting
  • Experience developing data warehouse solutions and business intelligence systems.
  • Experience with an industry leading DW/ETL/BI infrastructure.
    Skills in OBI EE, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Database, Informatica, Endeca, Golden Gate, Big Data or open source streaming technologies are strong plus.
  • Ability to optimize performance of complex reports and SQL statements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Social Sciences or other related technical field.
  • Experience with project management including scope management, risk management, and project delivery with focus on Business Intelligence projects is a plus
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies and tools are a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience in continuous integration and delivery is a plus.
  • Knowledge of some of the following programming languages and technologies is highly desirable: PL/SQL, Java, Java Script, Groovy, Python, R, Ruby, Linux, Shell Scripting, Scala, Kafka, Spark, Machine Learning, Data Visualization

Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
