Get to know the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Strategic Projects Associate / Senior Associate will directly oversee the launches of new projects and initiatives. This role will primarily face Grab’s Driver-Partners. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and should possess the passion and mission to act on on-ground feedback to better serve Grab’s Driver-Partners.
The day-to-day activities:

  • Facilitation of product and feature rollouts with Regional and Country Product Managers, Customer Support team, Driver Centre team, and Communication team to minimize risks while maximizing positive impact to Grab’sDriver-Partners.

  • Propose and lead new initiatives to bring more value to Grab - specifically to grow Grab’s business or to improve customer and driver satisfaction.

  • Develop the necessary operational process to make the new business vertical work effectively; identify resource gaps and solutions to close those gaps.

  • Implement and manage work processes and procedures; work closely various teams such as the Operations, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure cross-functional alignment on initiatives and timelines.

  • This role will begin as an individual contributor role, and depending on the candidate’s performance, may develop into a people manager role.

  • You will be expected to steer and influence team members and local leadership teams from different business verticals, through insightful analysis and meaningful initiatives.

  • Cross-functional collaboration -- collaborate closely with various local and regional teammates (including other Department Heads, and all support functions), to address issues, identify new opportunities and share best practices.

  • Provide insightful analysis to arrive at data-driven recommendations for the Operations team, in supporting planning and strategic decision-making.

  • Basic budgeting and expense management - working closely with Grab’s Financial Planning & Analysis team to allocate, manage, and track team budgets.

  • Work with the Operations team to plan and execute together business and operations strategies to hit monthly targets within the assigned budgets.

The must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in leading a small team is preferred.

  • Comfortable in writing and communicating in English.

  • 3-6 years of working experience

  • Must have: Strong ability to extract and analyse numbers to arrive at data-driven decisions

  • Excellent problem solving/decision making, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to persuade others to buy-in idea and perception especially when it comes to behavioural change.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet short and fast deadlines.
