Job Description

Role Purpose and Description:

As a Business Development Intern, you will gain valuable experience in lead generation techniques, market research, and business development strategies within the context of a SaaS marketplace intelligence platform in aCommerce. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams and contribute to revenue growth through the generation of high-quality opportunities and identification of strategic partnerships and business opportunities.

We are the leading ecommerce enabler in ASEAN and are in an exciting growth period at which you will be working with the key decision makers of global brands on a daily basis, ensuring that we exceed their expectations as well as establish long term relationships.


  • New Opportunity Generation: Assist in planning, implementing, and optimizing prospecting activities to generate new opportunities for the SaaS team. This includes content creation, email marketing, event coordination, and more.
  • Opportunity Qualification: Conduct research to identify potential prospects within the target market. Utilize online resources, databases, and social media platforms to gather relevant contact information and evaluate lead quality based on predefined criteria.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date information by entering and maintaining lead data. Organize and segment leads to facilitate effective follow-up and personalized outreach.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to gain insights into industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Provide comprehensive reports and analysis on market opportunities, customer needs, and potential target segments.
  • Business Development Support: Collaborate with the business development team to identify and evaluate partnership opportunities, strategic alliances, and potential clients. Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, and sales collateral for business development activities.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless handover of qualified leads. Provide assistance in preparing sales materials, conducting customer research, and participating in sales meetings or presentations as required.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze the performance of lead generation campaigns and business development initiatives. Generate reports and offer valuable insights on key metrics, such as lead conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and revenue generated.


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts and lead generation strategies.
  • Familiarity with lead generation software and marketing automation tools is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn about SaaS platforms, marketplace intelligence, and business development practices.
