As the the Japanese Business Development Manager is to develop new business/opportunities in all Japanese OEM and components market in South East Asia, especially in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam & Philippines.

What will you do

  • Making high level contact with Japanese OEM & components manufacturers customers; build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Act as a liaison for Japanese HQ and local SEA activities with QH Houghton & Japanese team member in Strategy.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans and entry strategy into SEA, that will generate growth, increase market share and achieve company sales and gross margin targets.
  • Connecting all the dots with Japanese OEM & components manufacturers in the keretsu system; ensure and develop consistent offer, pricing across SEA. Identify and understand customer needs and proposing product modifications within agreed criteria in applicable cases, in order to fulfill customer specific needs or requirements translating the objective to the appropriate function in the company.
  • Create and manage CRM sales pipeline of key targets and opportunities to achieve individual set financial targets.
  • Conduct market intelligence about Japanese customers needs and trends; as well as competitors analysis within JTP targeted markets.
  • Report to senior management on progress and challenges, provide forecast, investment proposal and business plans to management.
  • Handle all technical product and application related problems referred from the field, through in person visit to customers
  • Select appropriate products from the portfolio in accordance with business needs and product line strategy.
  • Collaborate with commercial team to identify market trends , Opportunities for product adaptation through developing customer presentations, proposals and commercial offers.
  • Collaborate with team to make sure customer trial & product data are collected and use the data to support value offer proposition and TCO calculation.

What do we look for

  • Education: Degree or recognized qualification in Chemistry, Engineering, Sales or any business-related area
  • Experience: 5+ years customer facing technical role with specific focus on MWO; 5+ years proven Business Development experience in related market
  • Languages: Fluent spoken English, native Japanese is a must.
  • Location: Remote role within Thailand or Indonesia.
