Job Description

Overall Role Purpose
Support the inbound clearance and the export process within established standards and transit times.
DHL customers

  • Portray a professional, courteous and helpful attitude in all dealings with customers

Customs Clearance

  • Support with the practical experience and knowledge
    In daily activities to achieve goals and objectives
    Customs official

  • Liaise with customs officials on specific duties payable and problem shipments.
    Terminal Operator

  • Coordinate with Terminal Operator about manifest amendment

HUB & Gateway staff at all levels, Clearance Support

  • Build-up the co-operative relationship with the practical levels in HUB & Gateway and provide the positive attitude /solution when necessary


  • Ensure the accurate preparation of import and export Customs declarations and the timely provision of those for review (as required)

  • Ensure that customer databases are maintained

  • Resolve specific disputes or provide advice on technical issues with internal customers.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Customs practices and procedures

  • Coordinate with Customs Clearance team for additional info, paper work, related data and document

Communication skills, spoken and written

  • Fair English proficiency

  • Strong customs regulations knowledge

  • Solid customs tariff knowledge

  • Numerical skills

  • Speed typing

  • Planning and organizing

  • Expected years of experience
    3 years relevant experience of working with customs clearance matters within transportation, logistics or import / export industry
