Consultant, Legal Counsel, Supporting Dell Boomi
Boomi is growing fast and is one of the most innovative, looking at cloud, privacy issues, meta data, ways to maximize the power your data brings to your business while leaving the Customer very much in control of all decisions. This is a ground floor opportunity as the key lawyer for our Legal team helping grow the APJ region. Boomi is at the top of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for integration, and we want to keep getting better. As we prepare to separate soon from Dell, in the wake of a $4 billion purchase (pending) of Boomi, we need a lawyer to help grow our APJ business and sit within Boomi's global Legal team and support APJ leadership. Customers often have interest in Data Privacy, Security, nuance of shared platform service. We have multiple government purchasers in APJ region.

Their expertise spans litigation, commercial and corporate transactions, IP, employment, immigration, compliance and regulatory matters. Their broad remit involves managing legal business matters, advising on legal issues affecting our business, and reviewing legal data. The challenges are always evolving - and always fascinating.
Key Responsibilities
  • Critical top priority focus on getting deals done in a smart and speedy way
  • Support at least one business VP as a key influencer and teacher from Legal
  • Make recommendations of ways we can continue to be better while coordinating with the team on what's attainable for the group
  • Follow through on details to be sure systemic items needing attention are getting closed
  • Help Legal team members with escalations

Essential Requirements
  • JD degree with admission to at least one state bar
  • 6+ years experience in a corporate or commercial role doing corporate transactions in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment
  • Excellent negotiations and contract drafting skills
  • Ability to work well with our customers and our sales teams and ability to influence leaders to get to the right outcome
  • Issue spotting where we should be saying 'no' or need to spend extra cycles to handle a non-standard issue properly
  • Where applicable, follow through on tracking of form updatesand posting for team or being sure entire team has proper notice of relevant changes - hence, communication, and process follow up
  • Emotional intelligence, clear writing, attention to detail and anticipating 'what could go wrong' - all while multi-tasking and maintaining a healthy sense of humor and setting expectations on what's reasonable and doable
