Electrical Engineer – Solar & BESS Projects
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing residential solar rooftop and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from site survey to commissioning and handover. The role focuses on project coordination, engineering support, site supervision, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to company and utility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Manage residential solar rooftop and BESS projects from development phase to energizing and hand over a project documentation
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and installation teams
- Monitor project schedule, progress, quality, safety, and budget
- Prepare project updates and progress reports
- Ensure successful project commissioning and handover
Engineering & Design Coordination
- Review solar PV system design, layout drawings, and Single Line Diagram (SLD)
- Support site survey and technical assessment
- Verify equipment specifications and material selection
- Coordinate design revisions and technical clarification when required
- Ensure compliance with MEA/PEA requirements and engineering standards
BESS Scope
- Coordinate BESS designer, equipment selection, and technical review
- Supervise BESS installation, testing, and commissioning activities
- Ensure proper integration between BESS, inverter, EMS, and solar PV system
- Support troubleshooting and performance monitoring of Solar and BESS operation
- Prepare BESS-related engineering documents and test reports
Site Supervision
- Supervise installation activities at project sites
- Inspect workmanship and installation quality
- Coordinate material delivery and site readiness
- Support testing, commissioning, and system energization
- Resolve technical issues during construction and installation
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain project documentation
- Support permit submission and utility approval processes
- Prepare as-built drawings and project handover documents
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field
- 1–5 years of experience in solar rooftop C&I and Solar Home, BESS, Electrical, or Power Construction projects, etc.
- Knowledge of residential solar PV systems and BESS
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Able to travel and work onsite
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- PVsyst knowledge is an advantage
- Engineer License is preferred
