Job Description :
This is a senior professional level role responsible for supporting and strengthening at the country level Citi's efforts to assist in the global battle against money laundering specifically in terms of cases monitoring and investigation. AML Monitoring & Investigations mitigates money laundering and terrorist financing risks for Citi and its customers in the global marketplace. It uses skilled analysts, state-of-the-art technology and globally standard policies and procedures to ensure effective monitoring and reporting of suspicious activities.
Responsibilities:

  • AML Investigations from the automated and manual AML alerted cases in country and in conjunction with countries/regions.

  • Serving as Subject Matter Expert for multiple products in the analysis of alerts and investigation of transactional activities to detect any suspicions of money laundering or terrorist financing activity.

  • Providing training and mentoring to analysts on investigative techniques, internal systems, products, money laundering policies and regulations

  • Being responsible for the appropriate collection and analysis of documents to assist in identifying unusual transaction patterns.

  • Conducting research via available Bank systems and commercial databases, as well as the public sources.

  • Reviewing Analysts’ recommendations for further enquiry, escalation or closure

  • Interfacing with relevant units and the business in regards to compliance reviews, investigations, as well as other ad-hoc projects.

  • Being responsible for the organization of case files, case tracking logs and various AML processes (post SARs activities)

  • Documenting review findings, ensure awareness of conclusions and prepare a report of findings for Country AML Compliance officer.

  • Conducting alert investigation using global standard policies, procedures and tools aimed at meeting internal and external regulatory requirements.

  • Operating within agreed business SLAs and confidentiality standards.

  • Advocating for the business in matters relating to Compliance and/or Audit

  • Maintaining a proactive curiosity and pursue investigations to a higher degree of diligence than normally required for the standard due diligence.

  • Supporting implementation of new products during UAT of systems and processes.

  • Building and applying knowledge of money laundering processes.

  • Drafting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), recommend relationship retention or termination, and track recommendations and account closures, as required.

Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements applicable to banks
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
