Job Description Summary
You will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to Gas Power Engineering. You will serve as a recognized expert in the services field, both internally and externally, partnering with customers and industry leaders. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy, for customer success.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide technology leadership globally for Generator & Electrical Systems
  • Lead root cause investigations for issues with significant fleet impact from initial investigation through the corrective and preventive action phase
  • Resolve in depth, technical issues in Generator & Electrical Systems for customers timely and efficiently
  • Assure all component designs meet requirements for customers
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services operations, quality, and design engineering to fulfill customer needs
  • Communicate progress across all levels of the organization, including plant operators and executive leaders
  • Provide technical support for new unit installation / startup and other outage work scopes providing engineering response support for critical issues.
  • Travel to customer locations to 1) Support customer technical review meetings and present recommendations to champion GE's commitment to technical solutions 2) Support unplanned/forced outages to meet availability goals 3) Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales and services proposal activities
  • Author knowledge articles as well as customer communications, including: TILs (Technical Information Letter), PSSB (Product Service Safety Bulletin), PSIB (Product Service Information Bulletin), and Safety communications
  • Actively engage in and contribute to global product service meetings to grow personal expertise in addition to helping further the overall global team's expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Systems Engineering
  • Substantial experience in an engineering capacity
  • Significant Generator and Electrical Systems Engineering (i.e. excitation, protection and electrical auxiliary equipment) experience or related technology
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice
  • Ability and willingness to work off-hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution.
  • The incumbent could be based in most parts of Asia.

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Systems Engineering
  • Six Sigma / Lean training experience
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
