This is a position in the Seafreight department, working under Product Management Team, with a line of reporting to Procurement and Pricing Manager and/or Head of Department.
Primary responsibility includes various aspects of managing the procurement process and developing pricing strategies to ensure the company acquires the right price and services while maintaining high quality standards.
This role involves a combination of strategic planning, negotiation, relationship building, market analysis, and collaboration with various departments.
About The Job
- Contract Management:
- Manage and negotiate contracts with local carriers and indirect Seafreight vendors in line with Global Seafreight Policy and SOP.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with all partners and vendors.
- Record and maintain databases in line with department guidelines and policies.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure pricing strategies comply with relevant laws and standards.
- Pricing Strategy:
- Implement Global Seafreight Product strategy at the country level, escalating when necessary.
- Develop country pricing strategies that align with Global Seafreight direction to support both revenue and volume growth.
- Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pricing and tariff databases.
- Ensure all pricing information is correctly reflected in the company's system.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Regularly benchmark buying levels versus the market to ensure high competitiveness.
- Gather and analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor actions to support pricing decisions.
- Provide reports on market updates and insights to team members and management.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Conduct regular meetings with carriers, commercial and operations teams to gather feedback, share information, or address changes.
- Ensure that essential information is shared and updated properly in a timely manner.
- Support Customer Service and Operations Teams on the area concerning carriers and vendors.
- Work closely with the Regional Team and Vertical Product in providing prices or necessary information as required.
- Customer Engagement:
- Represent Seafreight Product at country level in customer meetings when required.
- Provide necessary support to commercial team during negotiations and customer engagements
About You
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar role and position.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the Freight Forwarding business.
- Understanding of pricing strategies, tender processes, and carrier management.
- Have good knowledge of the niche requirements of different kinds of Freight Movement and Incoterms.
- Must have basic knowledge of Seafreight operations, Customs processing, and relevant documents.
- Having a strong relationship and connection with local carriers will be considered as a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and excellent follow-up.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Energetic, well-organized, self-initiated, and a good team player.
