The Fabrication Operations Specialist / Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting all of the shop project needs including interacting with PM and fabrication shop supervision on a daily basis. This position is an experienced Fabrication Specialist role reporting to Project Manager or Director of Fabrication Operations.

As a part of our commitment to local talent development, we intend to hire Thai nationals for this role.

  • Prior knowledge of fabrication and modularization type of work being executed in Thailand
  • Confident in talking to clients or client representatives Must have good English communication skills.
  • Able to work in extended hours and be able to attend late-night calls/reviews with other CB&I outfits.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and any project related updates to relevant parties.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Fabrication Process Oversight

Monitor and manage all fabrication activities within the shop/yard, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Collaborate with the project management team to plan and schedule fabrication tasks to meet project deadlines.

Quality Assurance

Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all fabricated products meet the required specification and industry standards.

Participate in inspections and audits to identify and rectify potential quality issues promptly.

Safety compliance

Adhere safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all fabrication operations follow to relevant safety regulations and best practices as per CB&I Thailand safety guidelines.

Attend safety training and promote a safety first culture among the fabrication team.

Cost control and budget Management

Monitor project expenses, analyze budget reports, and ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.

Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.

Resource allocation

Optimize resource utilization, including manpower equipment and materials to enhance productivity and efficiency in the fabrication processes.

Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary materials for ongoing projects.

Technical support

Provide technical expertise and support to fabrication team members, offering guidance on complex fabrication tasks and problem-solving challenges.

Process improvement

Continuously assess fabrication processes and identify opportunities for improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing productivity.

Implement process enhancements to achieve cost-saving and time-saving benefits.

Collaboration and communication

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and timely completion of fabrication and module projects.

Essential Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Fabrication and pre-contract function
  • Experience of Shop Fabrication and Assembly Project Management role
  • Broad technical knowledge of fabrication/construction methods and equipment, engineering processes, and fabrication capabilities
  • Familiarity with estimating, supply chain, project controls, and contract commercial management
  • Knowledge of Commercial Contracting and Negotiation strategies
  • Proficient in MS Office Program
  • Familiarity with the Energy & Construction Industry preferred
