Senior. Principal System Development Engineer (Wireless Engineer)
The Client Peripherals Engineering is responsible for product development of keyboard, mice, headsets, speakerphones, webcams among many other products. As a Wireless Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing 2.4 GHz RF radios, Bluetooth wireless radios, including antenna and software. You will work with other technologists and leading partners to provide differentiating wireless solutions for our keyboard, mouse and stylus that are secured, immunity to interference, and long battery life.
Key responsibilities
  • Defines and scope peripherals wireless solution development requirements
  • Creates and manage incubation activities at the technology partner as well as ODMS
  • Evaluates multiple solutions from tech partners and recommend appropriate solution for the peripheral portfolio
  • Collaborates with technology partners and ODMs to meet program goals
  • Develops Dell IP to protect differentiation in the market
  • Creates 2+ year vision and influence key technology partner roadmaps and strategy to meet goals
  • Develops prototypes, test, issue root cause analysis, and debugging methodologies
  • Resolves product issues as it relates to new NUDDs introduced by the new design into the product(s)

Requirements
  • Experience in design and development of Keyboard, Mouse, Stylus, and Controllers
  • Knowledge of PC architecture and SW operating systems, BIOS, device drivers, firmware and debugtools
  • Understand key industry standard electrical bus interfaces, including PCIe, USB, and USB-C including Power Delivery
  • Deep knowledge in wireless technologies - RF, BT/BLE, Wi-Fi, interference, power management and wireless security
  • Experience in Bluetooth SIG and specification development
  • Knowledge in security and encryption standards and security requirements
  • Understand software development and testing
  • Experience in managing complex program schedules and risks, collaborating with a diverse set of partners to achieve program goals
  • Advanced technical experience in RF antenna design and testing, issue root cause analysis and debugging methodologies
  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 10 years experience in RF design in the PC/IT industries
