Job Overview
We are working in collaboration with a prominent player in the hospitality and real estate sector to appoint an experienced Vice President - Design & Technical. This executive position will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the design, engineering, and technical direction across a portfolio of large, high-impact development projects.
This role serves as a key partner to senior management, providing expert guidance to ensure projects are delivered efficiently from initial concept through to completion, while upholding the highest standards in design quality, operational performance, and functional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Establish and drive the overarching design and technical vision for complex, large-scale developments.
- Advise executive leadership on project viability, design benchmarks, and implementation strategies.
- Build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams comprising internal stakeholders and external consultants.
Project Delivery & Development
- Direct the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful execution within defined scope, timeline, and budget parameters.
- Maintain design quality and technical rigor throughout all project phases.
- Lead governance processes, including design reviews and technical approvals, to ensure alignment with brand standards and business objectives.
- Apply value engineering principles to achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
Asset & Portfolio Management
- Partner with asset management teams to plan and deliver capital investment and asset enhancement programs.
- Oversee refurbishment, repositioning, and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
- Ensure development activities support long-term asset value and operational sustainability.
Technical Operations & Compliance
- Implement and monitor maintenance strategies, including preventive and corrective programs.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, international standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular technical audits, inspections, and risk assessments to uphold operational excellence.
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Manage budgets covering technical services, capital expenditures, and operational costs.
- Lead procurement planning for materials, equipment, and technical services.
- Provide consistent and insightful performance reporting to senior stakeholders.
Risk & Crisis Management
- Offer leadership and technical direction during critical incidents or emergency situations.
- Develop and maintain risk mitigation frameworks across all projects and operating assets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in large-scale development or project delivery, ideally within hospitality, mixed-use, or real estate environments.
- Demonstrated success managing high-value projects (typically exceeding THB 1 billion or equivalent).
- Strong experience working alongside international consultants, operators, or in global project settings.
- Background in asset management or technical operations is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of construction practices, engineering systems, and building technologies.
- Solid knowledge of health & safety regulations, life safety systems, and compliance standards.
- Proven experience in procurement, contract administration, and cost management.
