The Role
As an Account Director (E-Commerce), you will lead a portfolio of strategic brand accounts and oversee a team of Account Managers, Associates, and Executives to drive business growth, operational excellence, and long-term client partnerships.
This role is responsible for managing overall account performance, client satisfaction, revenue growth, and team leadership across multiple e-commerce and social commerce projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including media buying, live commerce, creative, production, and marketplace operations to deliver integrated solutions and measurable business impact for clients.
This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone with strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, people management capability, and deep understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic lead for key client accounts across TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, and other commerce platforms.
- Build strong long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted business partner and advisor.
- Understand client business objectives and develop strategies to drive sales growth, campaign success, and platform performance.
- Lead business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and performance discussions with clients.
- Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers, Associates, and Executives to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
- Set clear KPIs, goals, and expectations for the team aligned with business objectives.
- Support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented team culture.
- Drive account growth through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Monitor cluster revenue, profitability, and account performance to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Support commercial negotiations, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, campaign performance, traffic, conversion, and overall marketplace KPIs.
- Identify business risks, growth opportunities, and optimization areas using data-driven insights.
- Prepare performance reports, business presentations, and strategic recommendations for clients and management.
- Collaborate closely with integrated marketing communication, media buying, live streaming production, graphic design, operations, and fulfillment teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
- Coordinate internal resources effectively to deliver projects on time and achieve client objectives.
- Ensure alignment between commercial goals and operational execution.
- Resolve client issues, operational challenges, and business escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide strategic guidance and solutions to maintain client satisfaction and business continuity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication Arts, or related fields.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in account management, e-commerce, digital marketing, marketplace management, sales, or related fields.
- Proven experience managing key accounts and leading teams in agency, e-commerce, or social commerce environments.
- Strong understanding of TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, and the overall e-commerce ecosystem.
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to drive revenue growth and business performance.
- Data-focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Good command of English communication.
