The Role

As an Account Director (Social Commerce), you will lead strategic client partnerships and oversee a portfolio of brands focused on social commerce growth across platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada.

You will be responsible for driving commercial performance, leading cross-functional execution teams, and ensuring strong client satisfaction while scaling sustainable business growth. This role requires a strong understanding of live commerce, content-driven sales, creator ecosystem, platform campaigns, and performance marketing within the fast-moving social commerce landscape.

This is a leadership role for someone who combines strong business acumen, operational management, strategic thinking, and client leadership in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic lead and primary contact for key social commerce clients and brand partners.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships to ensure business growth and client retention.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to improve social commerce performance, sales growth, and platform competitiveness.
  • Lead business reviews, campaign planning, and quarterly growth discussions with clients.
  • Drive overall account revenue, NMV growth, profitability, and commercial performance across assigned accounts.
  • Monitor sales performance, conversion metrics, live commerce performance, campaign effectiveness, and marketplace KPIs.
  • Identify growth opportunities, optimization plans, and business expansion strategies for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maximize business outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers, Associates, and Executives to achieve business objectives and service excellence.
  • Set performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for the team.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and solution-oriented working culture.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building within the team.
  • Work closely with internal teams including:
    • Live Streaming Production
    • Creative & Content
    • Media Buying
    • Affiliate & KOL
    • Marketplace Operations
    • Graphic Design
    • Fulfillment & Customer Service
  • Ensure seamless coordination and timely execution of campaigns, live selling activities, and platform initiatives.
  • Develop integrated social commerce strategies aligned with client objectives and platform trends.
  • Support major campaign planning including mega campaigns, seasonal activations, product launches, and creator collaborations.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and platform updates to identify new opportunities.
  • Handle client escalations, operational challenges, and performance issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Provide strategic solutions and business recommendations to maintain service quality and client confidence.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication Arts, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in account management, social commerce, e-commerce, digital marketing, media agency, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing key accounts and leading teams in agency or commerce environments.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, live commerce, affiliate ecosystem, and social commerce operations.
  • Strong commercial mindset with ability to drive revenue growth and client business performance.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-focused with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and business presentation skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Good command of English communication.
