Accounting Director (Multi-Plant Manufacturing)
The Accounting Director is responsible for leading the accounting and financial control function across four manufacturing plants and corporate operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and effective financial governance across all sites. The Accounting Director serves as a strategic business partner to plant management and executive leadership, driving standardization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & Governance
- Lead and manage all accounting activities across four manufacturing plants and corporate entities.
- Establish and maintain standardized accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across all locations.
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP/TFRS, IFRS, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic accounting guidance to executive management and plant leadership teams.
- Develop and mentor accounting managers and finance teams across multiple sites.
Financial Reporting & Closing
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for all plants.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses.
- Present financial results, key variances, and business insights to senior management.
- Coordinate intercompany accounting and consolidation activities.
Manufacturing Accounting & Cost Control
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Ensure accurate inventory accounting and physical inventory controls across all plants.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve plant financial performance and cost efficiency.
- Monitor plant KPIs, manufacturing costs, inventory turns, and working capital metrics.
- Support capital expenditure planning, asset management, and fixed asset accounting.
Tax, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Lead external audit, internal audit, and regulatory review activities.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities, government agencies, and external consultants.
- Drive continuous improvement of internal control frameworks and risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with BOI requirements and reporting obligations where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CPD, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong manufacturing industry experience with exposure to multi-plant operations.
- Prior external audit experience with a Big 4 or reputable audit firm is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, consolidation, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Experience managing large teams across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and local language.
