SUMMARY
To support our growth and expansion plans in APAC, we are looking for an Accounting Manager for Thailand to join the fast paced, dynamic finance team. The hands-on role offers both variety and responsibility along with the opportunity to make a strong contribution to the Align team.
This position will report to Finance Manager, Thailand & Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, in the area of:
- Accounting manager for Thailand
- Lead and manage the overall finance accounting function, finance operation and book-keeping for Thailand
- Responsible for timely, consistent and accurate monthly local GAAP and US GAAP for group reporting
- Lead and co-ordinate the monthly close process
- Responsible for OPEX and Balance Sheet review & comments
- Prepare monthly Financial Reporting Package for submission to US
- Review monthly balance sheet schedules
- Support daily operating and month end closing process together with Thailand accountant
- Responsible for working capital management including payment processing and controls
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures comply with legal and Corporate guidelines/policies, including compliance (FCPA)
- Review, implement and maintain an effective and robust internal controls system in compliance to SOX requirements, and ensure adherence to approval processes
- Manage internal and external audit requirements, as well as ensure compliance to tax laws within Thailand
- Liaise with external agents to ensure timely local statutory reporting and relevant tax reporting
- Review monthly tax filing and reconciliation between local Stat and US GAAP
- Responsible for tax package preparation in collaboration with the Corporate tax team to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax-related deliverables, as well as compliance with all relevant corporate and statutory requirements.
- Identifying process improvement to reduce inefficiency/manual handling within finance function
- Preparing internal financial reports to LT as required including preparation of presentation slides of business performance.
- Assisting in preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecast.
- Supporting Thailand & Vietnam FM on business partnering to Commercial team in terms of financial planning and analysis, monitoring of business results, managing and controlling OPEX budget, sales / promotions / customer profitability analysis, business case analysis for investments and commercial projects to support decision making
- Provide coaching and guidance to Thailand accountant
- Develop and deliver ad hoc reports for business needs
- Ad hoc financial projects
Experience/Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant
- At least 10 years relevant experience
- Working experience in a multinational company environment, with ability to operate in diverse cultures
- Experience in leading a team, and a good team player
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
- Deadline-conscious with can do spirit to ensure timely reporting
- Have a positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
- Agile, results oriented, customer focused
- Acts with integrity and fairness and high standards of accountability
Skills Required
- Language: English and Thai (written and spoken)
- Strong systems skills with prior experience of Finance ERP system. Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
WORK SCHEDULE / HOURSNormal work hours Monday Friday 830am to 530pm, based in Thailand office
