Job Description

Role Purpose

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end closing, strong financial controls, compliance, and effective cash flow management. The role supervises AP, AR, and GL activities and works closely with the Financial Controller, Shared Service Hub, commercial teams, Supply Chain, Treasury, Tax, auditors, banks, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Accounting and Month-End Closing

  • Supervise AP, AR, and GL accounting operations.
  • Coordinate with the Shared Service Hub to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Support and manage month-end closing activities.
  • Review accruals, prepayments, amortization, and account reconciliations.
  • Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready accounting records.

2. Credit Control and Receivables

  • Monitor overdue receivables and outstanding customer claims.
  • Coordinate with customers, Sales, and internal teams to resolve collection issues.
  • Prepare monthly trade debtor analysis and collection updates.
  • Review invoice, credit note, debit note, overpayment, short payment, and partial payment status.
  • Escalate high-risk or long-outstanding balances.

3. Cost Accounting and Inventory

  • Prepare and review product cost reports and cost models.
  • Manage product costing, analyze PPV, stock valuation and COGS recognition.
  • Investigate material cost and inventory variances.
  • Support stock counts, inventory controls, and disposal documentation.
  • Provide reliable cost information for pricing and financial planning.

4. Trade Spend Management

  • Review and settle trade-spend transactions in Xtel and SAP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely GTN bookings.
  • Investigate and resolve trade-spend discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and support audit requirements.

5. Treasury and Cash Management Support

  • Support cash flow forecasting and cash balance monitoring.
  • Assist with FX exposure and hedging documentation.
  • Coordinate local banking administration and payment documentation.
  • Ensure banking transactions are accurate, complete, and properly supported.

6. Audit, Compliance, and Controls

  • Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors.
  • Coordinate audit requests and prepare PBC documentation.
  • Support GRC testing and follow up on control-improvement actions.
  • Support tax-related accounting, fixed asset control, and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local accounting requirements.

7. Team and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop AP and AR team members.
  • Set clear priorities and monitor quality and delivery.
  • Work effectively with the Shared Service Hub and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide accounting guidance and resolve operational finance issues.
  • Support finance transformation, system improvement, and special projects.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience, including team management.
  • Strong experience in month-end closing, general accounting, AP, AR, and balance-sheet reconciliation.
  • Good knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and COGS analysis.
  • Experience in credit control and receivables management.
  • Knowledge of Thai accounting, VAT, withholding tax, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with Shared Service teams is preferred.
  • SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • Consumer products, FMCG, dairy, or import and export experience would be an advantage.
  • Good Thai and English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Key Success Measures

  • Month-end closing completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Balance-sheet reconciliations are complete, supported, and audit-ready.
  • Overdue receivables and customer disputes are actively managed.
  • Product costing and inventory reporting are accurate.
  • Trade-spend transactions are settled correctly and on time.
  • Cash flow and banking activities are properly managed.
  • No significant control failures or high-risk audit findings.
  • AP and AR teams deliver accurate and timely results.
  • Strong coordination with the Shared Service Hub and business stakeholders.
