About This Role
Meritton British International School is a growing, values-driven international school in Chiang Mai, committed to academic excellence, integrity, and professional standards. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and support sound financial management across the school. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate and compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, providing insights to support decision-making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long-term financial planning in collaboration with department heads
- Manage, mentor, and review the performance of the accounting team to ensure deadlines and objectives are met
- Oversee general ledger management, transaction accuracy, and the implementation of internal controls
- Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare required schedules, and implement audit recommendations
- Manage cash flow, working capital, accounts payable and receivable, and banking relationships
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate statutory filings with external advisors
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles, including managerial or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
