Position: Accounting Manager (for Thai national only)
Location: Nonthaburi, Thailand
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and strong internal controls in a fast-moving FMCG environment. This role oversees daily accounting activities, month-end closing, inventory accounting, and coordination with auditors and tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Closing
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reports
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with Thai GAAP / IFRS
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate statutory filings and submissions (VAT, WHT, CIT, SSO, etc.)
Taxation & Audit
- Review and manage tax matters including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities
- Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations
Inventory & Cost Accounting (FMCG Focus)
- Oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and physical stock counts
- Monitor COGS, inventory aging, write-offs, and provisions
- Ensure proper costing for production, import/export, and distribution activities
Internal Control & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures
- Review accounting workflows and improve efficiency and accuracy
- Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and system controls
Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and develop accounting staff
- Allocate workload, review team output, and provide coaching and guidance
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CPD, or equivalent professional certification is preferred
- Minimum 510 years of accounting experience, with FMCG / consumer goods / trading background
- Strong knowledge of Thai GAAP / IFRS and Thai tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and cost control
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution businesses
- Experience managing statutory audits and tax inspections
- Familiarity with modern trade and traditional trade accounting processes
