Job Description

Position: Consolidation and Technical Accounting Manager

Department: Group Accounting & Accounting Shared Services

Report to: Senior Department Manager

Location: Bangkok

Job responsibilities:

  • Create and update the Group Financial Reporting Guidelines based on the Group applicable accounting policies to ensure accounting practice alignment within group
  • Perform technical accounting research, form a conclusion for new or proposed transactions as needed in order to advise management of the appropriate accounting treatment
  • Serve as a technical resource for group accounting team in order to respond to accounting issues and provide consultations mainly on TFRS and IFRS (US GAAP is a plus)
  • Oversee implementation of accounting policies across the TU Group in order to ensure the consistency of the accounting treatments and presentation for each entity under the Group
  • Keep updated on TFRS, IFRS to identify any potential impact of new pronouncements and their impact on the financial statements
  • To support the group consolidation for monthly, quarterly financial information based on TFRS and IFRS including financial statements
  • Being part in providing internal accounting training and sharing accounting knowledge to group accounting team
  • Maintain and improve the Group's Chart of Accounts, advise on accounting topics relating to SAP
  • Review monthly financial reporting packages to ensure accurate Group Reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors to resolve conclusions on complex accounting matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • +8 years of experience working in accounting and financial reporting including TFRS and IFRS accounting (with Big 4 or large public accounting experience)
  • Solid understanding of TFRS and IFRS (US GAAP is a plus); specific areas include consolidation, impairments, business combination and financial instruments
  • Understands requirements for documentation in financial statements disclosures and financial reporting guidelines; demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues
  • Demonstrated abilities to prioritise and manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, communications skills, and the ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively in a rapidly scaling and dynamic environment
  • Good general business skills and able to work with other departments across the organization
  • Excellent English in both oral and writing
  • ERP experience (e.g. SAP) is a plus
