About The Job
The BI Engineer role is a position for international products, possessing an agile mindset you will be willing to work in a volatile environment. You will fit into a diverse team of English speaking developers, QA Personnel, and Business Analysts and will be implementing and maintaining one or more international products. Your knowledge in RDMS (Relational Database Management Systems), and SQL (Oracle and PostGres) as well as significant exposure to using these technologies to develop data oriented solutions, will allow you to play a key role in your team.
What You Do
- Design and develop PowerBI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that align with business requirements.
- Proven experience in ETL development (Event and/or Batch driven)
- At least experience in two of the following technologies (SQL, Python, Oracle, Postgres, Code Generation, pyTest)
- Experience with Database design and modelling (multidimensional, 3NF, data vault)
- Experience with agile methodology and tools (Jira, confluence)
- Developing SQL packages, procedures and functions
- DevOps skills: CI/CD in Jenkins, GitHub
- Troubleshooting, bug fixing, debugging experience
- Understanding of insurance business, ABS Knowledge (Desirable)
- Experience in use of containerized environments for development (Desirable)
- Kafka Knowledge (near real time data integration) (Desirable)
- Apply AI technologies in Kafka for near real-time data integration and intelligent event processing
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience on data visualization and BI reporting tools e.g. MicroStrategy, PowerBI
- 3-5 years of experience with PostGres or Oracle and SQL Programming
- Worked in Agile methodology
- Significant experience in one or more of the following categories;
- Data Warehousing
- ETL Development
- Dimensional Modelling
- Data Vault 2.0
- Data Science
- Experience working with subject matter and technical experts
- High communication and interpersonal skills
- Oral and written proficiency in English language
- Mentoring and coaching of other developers
- Demonstrates a curious mentality and willingness to learn
- Keeps skills up to date and transfers knowledge where possible
- Presentable and punctual; be a role model to other developers
- Utilize AI for intelligent data transformation and error detection
