Job Description

Job Summary

Acts as the embedded AI enabler and liaison between the SCGC Manufacturing AI Center of Excellence and plant operations teams across petrochemical manufacturing sites. The role drives AI democratization by translating plant-floor pain points into practical digital solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and automation tools — empowering plant personnel to adopt and sustain AI and data-driven workflows independently. For complex or high-code requirements,

the role serves as the coordination bridge back to the central Manufacturing AI team. Reports to the Manager – Manufacturing AI.

Key Responsibilities

1. Embed with plant teams to identify, document, and prioritize operational pain points across production, maintenance, quality, and safety functions through AI or digital tools.

2. Build and deploy low-code / no-code solutions (e.g., KNIME, Power Automate, Power Apps, or equivalent platforms) to automate repetitive tasks, improve data visibility, and resolve day-to-day operational challenges at the plant level.

3. Coach and upskill plant personnel — operators, engineers, and supervisors — to confidently use AI tools, dashboards, and automated workflows through hands-on workshops, one-on-one support, and co-development sessions.

4. Serve as the first-line AI support for plant teams; triage incoming requests, resolve issues within low-code scope, and escalate complex or high-code problems to the central Manufacturing AI CoE with well-structured problem briefs.

5. Communicate AI concepts and solutions clearly to non-technical audiences, translating technical outputs into business-relevant insights and actionable recommendations that resonate with plant operations culture.

6. Track adoption and impact of deployed solutions by monitoring usage, gathering user feedback, and iterating on tools to ensure sustained value delivery at the plant.

7. Participate in CoE knowledge sharing by contributing use cases, reusable templates, and lessons learned back to the central team to build the organization's AI capability library.

8. Support AI Master Plan initiatives, including the Intelligent Operation Cockpit, loss detection workflows, and citizen data scientist development programs, as directed by the Manufacturing AI team.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in any Engineering/Science major with background or expertise in AI
