Primary Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Obtain, recognize and demonstrate core competencies required for promotion to Applications Engineer 3.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to clients and internal teams on drilling applications and technologies.
  • Provide independent field operations support for drilling tools and MWD product lines.
  • Provide integrated multi-product solutions to clients.
  • Through constant customer contact, maintain accurate monitoring of activity, applications and competition.
  • Analyze tool performance data.
  • Analyze drilling dynamics data to improve drilling tool performance.
  • Prepare and present customer presentations, performance summaries and outstanding run reports.
  • Coordinate with Reliability Engineering for field analysis of failed tool investigation.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients and internal staff on the use of drilling tool / MWD technologies and their applications.
  • Coordination between Product Line Engineering, Sales, and Reliability groups.
  • Coordinate field testing of new products and help implementation of design improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in drilling technologies and industry best practices.
  • Assist with the implementation of procedures, best practices following knowledge management processes.
  • Promote the technical image of NOV in the local area through membership of industry groups.
  • Assist in training and mentoring of new engineers.

Education And Experience

  • Completed 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant oilfield experience, including exposure to downhole tools.
  • Strong technical knowledge of drilling processes, including torque & drag analysis and hydraulics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and cross-functional departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage workload independently and responsibly.
  • Proven technical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire.
