Job Summary
As an Area Sales Manager, you will play a vital role in driving Motul's growth and expansion in Thailand. In this position, you will be responsible for developing the industry and market by engaging with both new and existing clients and channels within the Northern area.
Your key responsibilities will include identifying and managing business opportunities through proactive prospecting while closely collaborating with DSRs (Distributor Sales Representatives) and direct accounts to maximize sales potential.
Responsibilities
- Distributor Management & Business Development Effectively manage distributors, build strong business relationships, and develop sell-in/sell-out strategies, trade promotions, and stock replenishment plans.
- Sales Leadership Coach and lead Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs) to expand the network within assigned territories.
- Client Relationship Management Maintain and strengthen relationships with direct clients by providing ongoing support, insights, training, and technical assistance. Identify new business opportunities and recommend strategies to enhance profitability and service quality.
- Market Expansion Drive business growth by developing new prospects and strengthening relationships with both direct and indirect channels.
- Sales Planning & Network Optimization Assist Regional Sales Managers in strategic sales planning, expansion efforts, and optimizing the existing network within assigned areas.
- Marketing & Performance Improvement Plan and support local marketing initiatives, analyze strengths and weaknesses, and propose actionable improvements.
- Market & Competitor Analysis Stay updated on industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify opportunities for product improvements or new offerings.
- Data & Reporting Collect, analyze, and summarize market data to provide insightful reports on market needs and buying behaviors in assigned territories.
- Quality & Standards Compliance Ensure high service quality by adhering to organizational standards and best practices.
- Team Contribution & Support Collaborate with the team to achieve business objectives and provide support in additional activities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in a Business-to-Consumer (B2C), ideally within the automotive lubricants industry. Candidates from related industries (e.g., automotive parts, chemicals) will also be considered.
- Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management, with a self-driven, results-oriented approach.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to engage customers and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel extensively within Thailand as needed.
- Native-level Thai proficiency and good command of English
