Role Description The Area Sales Manager – Publishing and EdTech is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi. This position oversees sales operations for assigned territories, focusing on promoting the company's print and digital educational products to schools, colleges, and institutional buyers. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with key decision-makers, conducting product presentations and demos, managing distributor and partner relationships, and implementing regional sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. The role also involves monitoring market trends, gathering feedback from educators, identifying opportunities for EdTech adoption, and coordinating closely with marketing and product teams. The Area Sales Manager is expected to prepare regular sales reports, maintain accurate account records, and uphold high standards of customer service and brand representation.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales, business development, and account management skills, with experience in educational publishing and/or EdTech preferred.
  • Proficiency in territory planning, channel management, and relationship-building with schools, colleges, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct product demos for both print and digital solutions.
  • Ability to analyze market data, track competition, and provide insights that support sales strategy and product positioning.
  • Comfort with using CRM tools, basic data analysis software, and digital platforms to manage pipelines and report performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a similar area or regional sales role, ideally within publishing, education, or technology sectors.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territories and work closely with internal teams and external partners.
