Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manages Indirect Purchasing Buyers, ensures staff availability and grow the competences through SDP within the Group Purchasing organization
  • Collaborates with Segment Leaders and Segment Directors to achieve KPI Targets and enforce Segment strategies & Panels within his country and internal customers
  • Is accountable for KPI achievements on the perimeter (Country or SSC)
  • Proposes and implement productivity actions for the sites through -30 plant attendance and ensure transversalities across sites with his perimeter
  • Negotiate Global, Regional, Local contracts in collaboration with related Segment Leaders
  • Provide local support whenever required to other entities, to optimize supplier panel in his region whether for business increase or decrease based on competitiveness of the environment
  • Ensures timely updates and improvement of Indirect Purchasing Portal and Web-Catalogs of his country
  • Collects internal customers MTP and local needs to prepare annual Budgets supported by identified productivity reservoir and innovations
  • Monitor smooth performance of administrative indirect procurement processes in line with VIPM requirements and procedures (Supplier Introduction, Supplier Creation process, SoCo, Purchase requests, Purchase Orders, Receiving's, Litigations...)
  • Ensure appropriate trainings, usage, update of Purchasing IS tools (PuMa, e-Proc, HANA, GPS) in line with validated processes by Finance dept
  • Perform regular compliance checks on his organization and take relevant corrective actions whenever appropriate
  • Provides with his team necessary support to internal customers (requesters) on all Indirect purchasing tools (e-Proc, PuMa,...) and processes (Supplier Creation..)
  • Provides efficient and effective support to operations to solve supplier crisis whenever needed

Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration. An MBA or Master's degree in a related field
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience 7–10+ years in Purchasing, with a significant portion dedicated to the automotive industry
  • Functional Experience: Proven track record in New Product Introduction (NPI) or Project Purchasing, managing supplier selection from the R&D phase through to SOP (Start of Production)
  • Project Management: Strong ability to manage complex project timelines, ensuring that suppliers meet Valeo's milestones for quality, cost, and delivery
  • Cost Management: Proficiency in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), and rigorous negotiation techniques
  • Quality Standards: Solid understanding of automotive quality standards, such as IATF 16949 and VDA requirements
  • Tools: Expertise in using SAP and advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Regional Strategy: Ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies specifically tailored to the ASEAN market dynamics and supplier base
  • Communication: Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is mandatory for regional reporting. Knowledge of local languages (e.g., Thai, Vietnamese) is a significant advantage
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to act as a bridge between R&D, Quality, Production, and external suppliers
