Assistant Actuarial Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement pricing strategies that enhance profitability and growth.
• Responsible for rake-making analyses and provide pricing recommendations.
• Analyze financial impact of price change by evaluating margin impact, potential incremental volume, and competitor price levels.
• Ensure pricing actions are implemented timely and accurately.
• Manage and supervise pricing analysts to support activities inclusive of new price generation and discrepancy resolution etc.

Job Duties

• Lead the pricing modelling projects, including the implementation.
• Perform pricing analysis for new products, and partnerships.
• Maintain, refine, and develop analytical database and reports.
• Monitor portfolio performance to ensure profitability target is achieved.
• Liaise with other departments locally for pricing / radar related tasks.
• Monitor written business to assess the UW risk inherent in the portfolio.
• Implement the pricing action on the backend pricing software.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
• Support Head of Pricing by assisting with other duties when requested.

Requirements

• At least 5 years experience in General Insurance, ideally working predominantly on Motor pricing.
• Superior analytical skills and not afraid of coding.
• Prior experience with Radar and/or radar live a significant advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Energetic, self-motivating, entrepreneurial, optimistic, adaptable, high sense of personal integrity and honesty.
• Hands-on and a doer but with the ability to build and scale up organization and staff capacity by attracting and retaining top talents.
• Ability to think out of the box and apply common sense on top of superior modelling skills.
