Job Description

The Assistant Manager of Food Safety at the Pringles Plant in Thailand is tasked with developing and implementing a robust food safety program to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining the plant's reputation by upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. It is essential for ensuring the business adheres to all relevant food safety standards and legislation, protecting public health and avoiding legal issues and potential fines.

They will lead the implementation of food safety systems such as GFSI certifications, HACCP, and HALAL. The incumbent will manage the company's food safety programs for the site, including pathogen monitoring, allergen control, hygienic design for machinery, and verification, as well as training employees in these areas.

Additionally, the Food Safety Supervisor will be responsible for regularly reviewing and updating food safety policies and procedures based on new risks, technologies, or regulations. The incumbent will conduct audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimize food safety in daily operations, enhancing efficiency and reducing the risk of food safety incidents.

A Taste of What You'll Be Doing

  • Implementing and sustaining the management system such as GFSI, Halal, Kosher, etc., following business requirements
  • Setting up programs, activities and campaigns to drive food safety and quality culture
  • Initiating and rolling out food safety program training to drive food safety, quality, efficiency, consistency, and compliance with company policy and values
  • Connecting with regulatory teams in the region and globally to update related food regulations and ensure implementation and communication through related parties in the plant
  • Supporting functional departments in terms of processes related to food quality and safety during operations
  • Conducting HACCP, GHP, GFSI, HALAL, internal audits, MMR, IHA, and facilities hazard analysis
  • Conducting and organizing mock traceability and recall exercises to ensure the traceability system is effective
  • Developing document control systems for quality and food safety management systems to be more effective in supporting related functions
  • Reviewing machine hygienic design to ensure compliance with standards
  • Conducting validation and verification related to food safety programs such as pathogen, allergen, CCP, and OPRP
  • Allocate budgets for implementing and maintaining food safety programs, ensuring all expenditures remain within the budget

We're Looking for Someone With

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 4-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a similar environment, with a focus on food safety
  • Proficiency in English communication, with the ability to understand technical documents, regulations, and reports
  • Certification in HACCP, GFSI, or similar food safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to use digital/smart factory tools, dashboards, etc
