Assistant Manager, Sales - Catering
- Assist in developing and implementing catering sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize hotel profitability.
- Identify and solicit new catering business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and direct sales activities.
- Manage and grow existing accounts while maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to catering inquiries, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure business opportunities that align with revenue objectives.
- Conduct site inspections, client meetings, and property tours to showcase hotel facilities and catering services.
- Coordinate with Operations, Culinary, Events, Finance, and other departments to ensure successful planning and execution of events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Utilize effective sales techniques, including upselling and cross-selling, to maximize catering revenues while ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, contracts, and forecasts in the company's sales management system.
- Prepare regular sales reports, revenue forecasts, and account production analyses for management review.
- Handle client concerns, special requests, and event-related issues professionally and efficiently to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Promote Marriott brand standards and maintain a professional image in all client interactions and business activities.
- Support the Director of Sales and Director of Catering in achieving departmental goals, budget targets, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in training, coaching, and motivating sales team members to enhance performance and productivity.
- Monitor team performance to ensure compliance with company standards, sales procedures, and service excellence expectations.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across departments to support successful event execution and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all sales contracts, event orders, and related documentation are completed accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and community activities to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
- Perform administrative and operational duties to support the Sales and Marketing department, including preparing correspondence, presentations, reports, and sales materials.
- Carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
