Job Responsibilities
• Operational handling: Report to team head of Corporate Banking Department, manage daily end-to-end activities of custody operation including settlement and clearing, corporate actions, reconciliation, payments, FX, cash management and reporting.
• Process Optimization: Design, implement, and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and improve service delivery while leveraging technology and automation where applicable.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all deliverables are conformed with client contractual, market and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the Bank's internal policies.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, including those related to data security, transaction errors, and client asset protection.
• Client Experience: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Collaborate with relationship managers to support client needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Technology, Compliance, Risk, Sales, and Product teams to align operations with business objectives and client requirements.
• Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party service providers, such as sub-custodians, technology vendors, and auditors, ensuring service levels meet expectations.
• Handle other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management from time to time.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years in financial services operations.
• Overall understanding and knowledge about various markets and investment instruments (e.g. equities, fixed incomes etc.) as well as their related operating modes, clearing and settlement procedures, law and regulations, commonly-used SWIFT formats etc.
• Deep understanding of custody operations, securities processing, fund accounting, and relevant financial instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives).
• Familiar with different markets and operating requirements etc. Keep abreast of the international market developments and industry initiatives.
• Proven track record of navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and co-ordination skills to work with the team.
• Independent in thinking, arranging work and dealing with business partners or service providers; flexible and client-oriented in rendering client-fronting services.
• Experience with custody platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, or proprietary systems) and a forward-thinking approach to leveraging technology for operational efficiency.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, regulators, and senior management.
• Good command of English and Chinese Mandarin is a plus.
• Good skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Words.
