We are seeking an experienced and organized Assistant Sales Manager to join our dynamic sales team at our resort in Koh Yao Yai, Thailand. In this role, you will support the Commercial Team in driving revenue growth through groups and events business while delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating event logistics, and leading a team to achieve sales targets in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  • Assist in developing and executing sales strategies to attract and retain group and event business
  • Manage the full lifecycle of group and event bookings, from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event planners
  • Coordinate with internal departments (operations, housekeeping, food and beverage) to ensure seamless event execution
  • Prepare and present customized proposals and quotations to prospective clients
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Support the training and development of the sales team to enhance their skill set and performance
  • Manage group and event budgets, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency
  • Conduct site inspections and venue walkthroughs with clients to showcase facilities
  • Maintain accurate records in the customer relationship management (CRM) system and sales documentation
  • Participate in industry events, networking activities, and promotional initiatives to generate leads
  • Handle client inquiries and concerns professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in sales management, with a focus on groups and events
  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality, resort operations, or event coordination
  • Strong proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
  • Proven negotiation and closing abilities with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
  • Knowledge of group booking systems and hospitality management systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for events
  • Willingness to work in a resort environment and adapt to a multicultural workplace
  • Multilingual abilities (English and Thai preferred) or strong English communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or high-end event management is preferred
