The Deputy Japanese Sales Manager is responsible for leading all sales activities related to Japanese customers established in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The role is based in Thailand and acts as the key commercial bridge between JOA, the ASEAN countries under scope, ARO/Head Office, and Japan to drive business growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow the Japanese customer portfolio across Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, driving sustainable business growth and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key Japanese customers, freight forwarders, and business partners across the region and in Japan.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships to drive customer retention and business growth.
- Act as the commercial bridge between ASEAN countries, CMA CGM Japan, ARO, and Head Office to support business development and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate and support tender management, contract negotiations, and commercial reviews in collaboration with local, regional, and global stakeholders.
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to expand market presence and enhance the performance of the Japanese customer portfolio.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Japanese Sales team to achieve commercial objectives and deliver a high level of customer engagement and service excellence.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and customer developments to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, seamless service delivery, and successful implementation of customer solutions.
- Promote a customer-centric culture by ensuring timely responses to customer needs and maintaining a consistently high level of service quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry.
- Proven experience in sales, key account management, business development, or regional commercial leadership.
- Experience working across ASEAN markets is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Japanese customer expectations, business culture, and market dynamics.
