Job Description

DP World's Contract Logistics business in Thailand is looking for an Assistant Manager – Solutions Engineering & Pricing to design the warehousing and distribution solutions and costs that win and retain our customers.

Sitting at the intersection of commercial, operations, and finance, you will turn customer requirements and raw data into practical, executable, and commercially sound solution designs.

You will be working through the numbers behind a warehouse operation and standing behind your assumptions, and this is a good opportunity to work in a Southeast Asia cluster setup.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design end-to-end contract logistics solutions covering warehousing, distribution and value-added services for new business pursuits and re-engineering of existing accounts in Thailand.
  • Lead the solution and pricing component of RFI, RFQ and RFP responses, translating customer requirements into operational designs, cost models and commercial proposals within agreed deadlines.
  • Analyse customer data sets including SKU and order profiles, volume seasonality, inventory holding and service level requirements to accurately size space, labour and equipment needs.
  • Develop warehouse layouts, racking and storage configurations, material handling equipment selection and slotting strategies, including capacity and space utilisation modelling for greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Build activity-based cost models covering labour, equipment, space, technology, transport and overhead, and recommend rate cards and margin positions for management approval.
  • Present and defend solution designs to customers, business development teams and regional leadership, incorporating feedback through successive rounds of clarification and negotiation.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, IT, HSSE and Transport to validate design assumptions and feasibility, and support implementation handover through transition planning and post-go-live reviews against modelled productivity and cost.
  • Drive cost-to-serve and continuous improvement reviews on existing accounts, maintain local costing templates and productivity benchmarks, and coach junior team members on solution design methodology.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in logistics, warehousing or supply chain operations, including hands-on experience preparing customer solution designs and pricing proposals.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting tenders, RFQs and new business opportunities within a contract logistics or 3PL environment.
  • Strong working understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Ability to calculate manpower requirements, storage capacity and operating costs, and to build pricing models and supporting business cases.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, volumetric modelling and costing.
  • Sound commercial understanding of how logistics providers charge customers and generate margin.
  • Strong Thai and English communication skills, with the ability to present proposals and explain solution assumptions to customers and internal stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of warehouse layout design using AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with contract logistics commercial structures such as open-book, closed-book and gainshare models.
  • Experience supporting solution design or business development projects across Southeast Asia.
  • Lean, Six Sigma or other structured process improvement experience or certification.
  • Industry exposure in retail, electronics, industrial or technology sectors.
