About The Role
Clyde & Co is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Associate (3-5PQE) lawyer to join our leading Disputes and Insurance practice in Bangkok.
The opportunity has arisen because of firm growth in Thailand and will involve working with Partner Robert Tang, recognised as a leading individual in Insurance and Disputes in Thailand over consecutive years.
As part of this team, you will work on high-profile insurance law matters with exposure to large scale, complex, high value, multi-party, and multi-jurisdiction litigation for both local and international clients. Our team is growing, and we're looking for someone eager to learn, contribute, and build their expertise in a supportive, close-knit global law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Based in Bangkok and qualified to practice in Thailand.
- Supporting the team on complex insurance and commercial disputes involving Thai court proceedings and cross-border elements.
- Assisting with the preparation of pleadings, submissions, legal research, correspondence and other dispute-related documentation.
- Supporting Thai court proceedings including preparation of filings, coordination of evidence and assisting with hearings and trials.
- Assisting with matters involving international arbitration and multi-jurisdictional disputes, including coordination with foreign counsel where required.
- Conducting legal research and preparing draft memoranda, advice and internal analysis.
- Assisting with the preparation of evidence, witness materials and case chronologies.
- Supporting senior lawyers in case management and the progression of disputes.
- Contributing to client updates, internal know-how and legal briefings where appropriate.
Candidate Profile And Experience
- Approximately 3–5 years post qualification experience practicing law in Thailand.
- Qualified to practice law in Thailand with strong academic credentials.
- Experience in commercial litigation before Thai courts, including drafting pleadings and supporting hearings.
- Exposure to complex disputes or matters involving international parties is desirable.
- Experience in insurance disputes would be advantageous but is not required.
- Prior experience in a reputable Thai or international law firm is preferred.
- Thai language fluency is required. Strong written and spoken English sufficient to work with international clients and colleagues is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Clear and precise drafting ability in Thai, with the capacity to contribute to English language workstreams.
- Professional, reliable and motivated to develop within a high performing disputes practice.
