Job Description

Job Summary

The Auditor III supports Compassion's mission by strengthening accountability, integrity, and stewardship across ministry operations in Thailand and parts of Asia. This role is responsible for independently planning and executing internal audits, audits of Facilitating Church Partners (FCPs), and Country Office audits, including participation in fraud investigations.

As a seasoned auditor, you will work closely with partners and internal stakeholders in a consultative and relational manner—providing assurance, identifying risks, and helping improve controls, processes, and compliance. This role requires strong professional judgment, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work independently across diverse cultural contexts.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and perform risk-based internal audits, including audits of FCPs and Country Offices
  • Conduct audit fieldwork, including reviewing financial and operational records, testing controls, and validating data accuracy
  • Collect and analyze large volumes of information to identify control gaps, inefficiencies, non-compliance, or potential fraud
  • Participate in and support fraud investigations, including evidence gathering, documentation, and reporting
  • Prepare clear, well-supported audit findings and communicate results to management and partners
  • Deliver fraud awareness and audit-related trainings to FCPs and Country Office staff
  • Travel (approximately 40%) within Thailand and across parts of Asia, often conducting audits independently
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with partners and stakeholders, applying a consultative and developmental audit approach
  • Coach or support less experienced auditors as needed
  • Uphold Compassion's commitment to child protection, integrity, and Christian witness in all aspects of work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Seven (7) years or more of relevant audit experience
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Experience in internal audit; exposure to fraud investigations is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, time management, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, including conducting audits solo and managing competing priorities
  • Fluency in Thai and English (Karen and/or Burmese language skills are a strong advantage)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments
  • Personal alignment with Compassion's mission, values, and child protection commitments
