Position: Automation Engineer

Department: Engineering

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand / Bangalore, India. Interplant travelling may require.

Automation Engineer designs, programs, installs, and troubleshoots automated systems and industrial equipment. Key responsibilities include PLC/HMI programming, designing control panels, maintaining production efficiency, and assisting with project implementation.

This entry-level role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical/ Mechatronics engineering and strong troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • PLC/HMI Programming & Development: Develop, test, and program control logic (e.g., Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron) and human-machine interfaces (HMI) & SCADA. Use AI tools to develop systems to reduce human interference & dependability thus enhance traceability & reliability.
  • Design & Documentation: Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair electrical issues in automated production lines to minimize downtime.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Set up new machinery, conduct I/O checks, and ensure equipment complies with safety standards.
  • System Upgrades: Analyze existing production systems to suggest efficiency improvements (Kaizen) and implement automation upgrades.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI software.
  • Drafting: Ability to read/create electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for debugging and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Communication: Ability to collaborate with cross functional team, vendors, production teams, and management
  • Experience: 2-3 years in similar industries.
  • Job location: Thailand (Surat Thani) /India (Bangalore). Interplant travelling may require.
