Product Control & Financial Oversight
- Provide end‑to‑end oversight of Product Control activities across Global Markets, including daily P&L production, analysis, and attribution.
- Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, and year‑end P&L reporting in accordance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee General Ledger reconciliation, balance sheet substantiation, and resolution of breaks and discrepancies.
- Review and challenge valuation methodologies, reserves, and adjustments to ensure appropriate financial representation and risk transparency.
Risk Management & Governance
- Maintain strong control standards across all Product Control processes to mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risk.
- Oversee trade surveillance, profit validation, and control checks to identify unusual activity, errors, or control exceptions.
- Lead governance matters, including issue escalation, management reporting, audit responses, and remediation of control gaps.
- Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures, and support internal and external audits.
P&L Monitoring & Exception Management
- Support critical daily P&L monitoring and control processes for the Global Markets business.
- Review and analyze P&L movements and exceptions, providing clear explanations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive timely investigation and resolution of P&L breaks, operational issues, and system or data discrepancies.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Act as a key coordination point with Global Markets Front Office, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams.
- Partner with Front Office to support business activities while maintaining independence and strong financial control.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Product Control team, promoting a strong risk and control culture.
- Support business continuity planning and ensure operational resilience of Product Control processes.
- Strong experience in Product Control, Financial Control, or Market Risk within Global Markets or Capital Markets.
- Deep understanding of P&L reporting, financial instruments, valuation concepts, and control frameworks.
- Proven experience managing teams and interacting with senior Front Office and Risk stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to challenge constructively.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably 7 years working experience in the financial industry, preferably in Market Risk Management, Product Control, Treasury Business Finance, or related middle office roles.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MBA or related areas.
- • Knowledge of Treasury product is required. Working knowledge of Murex is an advantage.
- Programming skills in VBA, SQL or Python would be beneficial.
- Fluency in English and good in MS Excel.
- Highly numerate and strong analytical skills.
- Good team player with drive, initiative, have an eye for detail and able to work independently under pressure to produce accurate and timely work.
