Why this role exists

The Vice President Quality is responsible for end-to-end quality leadership and governance, ensuring that product quality, food safety, and compliance meet global standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.

This role leads the quality transformation agenda, embedding quality as a core business capability and elevating products to a level that builds consumer trust and brand credibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Leadership & Governance

  • Define and deploy a plant-wide quality strategy aligned with global food & beverage manufacturing standards.
  • Establish quality governance, policies, and decision frameworks across all value chain stages.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for quality risk management.
  • Ensure quality is embedded into daily operations.

2. Supplier & Incoming Quality Management

  • Lead supplier qualification, evaluation, and development programs.
  • Ensure robust incoming material inspection and approval systems.
  • Drive supplier quality improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure traceability and compliance across raw materials and packaging.

3. Production & Process Quality Excellence

  • Ensure production processes consistently meet product specifications and food safety requirements.
  • Deploy process confirmation, critical control monitoring, and deviation management.
  • Reduce variation, defects, and rework through standardization and root cause elimination.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to design quality into the process.

4. Hygiene, Sanitation & Pest Control

  • Establish and govern hygiene, sanitation, and pest control programs in line with GMP, HACCP, and global standards.
  • Ensure sanitation effectiveness, verification, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage food safety risks related to environment, equipment, and people.

5. Outbound Quality & Consumer Protection

  • Ensure products released to the market meet all quality, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Govern outbound inspection, storage, and transportation quality standards.
  • Protect product integrity throughout distribution and delivery.

6. Consumer Complaint Management

  • Lead the end-to-end consumer complaint management system.
  • Ensure timely investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Translate consumer feedback into systemic quality improvement.
  • Monitor complaint trends and protect brand reputation.

7. Certification, Standards & Customer Compliance

  • Lead certification and recertification for international standards
  • (e.g., ISO, FSSC, HACCP, GMP, customer-specific codes).
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party assessments.
  • Translate customer requirements into operational quality standards.

8. Quality Transformation & Culture Building

  • Lead the quality transformation roadmap, shifting from detection to prevention.
  • Embed a quality ownership mindset across all levels of the organization.
  • Develop quality leaders and build a strong succession pipeline.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to make quality everyone's responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or related fields
  • Minimum 1520 years in Quality leadership within MNC and Food & Beverage is preferred.
  • Senior leadership experience (Quality Director, Head of Quality, QA/QC Director)
  • Strong exposure to global food safety and quality standards
  • Proven experience managing customer audits and regulatory inspections
  • Demonstrated success in quality transformation initiatives
