Job Description
Role Summary
The role of Balance Sheet Management is responsible for leading the strategic management and optimization of the bank's balance sheet, including assetliability structure, funding strategy, FTP governance, and balance sheet forecasting. The role works closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Business Units to support sustainable NIM performance and longterm balance sheet stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Balance Sheet Strategy & Optimization
Lead the analysis of balance sheet structure, asset composition, funding mix, and interest margin drivers.
Develop strategic recommendations to enhance NIM, funding cost efficiency, and overall balance sheet performance.
Provide insights on market trends, customer behavior, and portfolio movements that influence balance sheet dynamics.
Funding Strategy (Structural & Portfolio Level)
Oversee structural funding strategy, including tenor mix, deposit strategy, and alignment with business growth.
Evaluate funding cost trends and propose actions to optimize cost of funds.
Collaborate with Treasury and Business Units on funding-related initiatives and strategic planning.
Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
Work with Treasury forFTP framework governance including methodology, curve construction, liquidity/tenor premiums, and business calibration.
Partner with Treasury to ensure FTP accurately reflects economic costs and provides effective pricing signals to business units.
Balance Sheet Forecasting
Lead balance sheet forecasting for budgets, periodic planning cycles, and scenario analysis.
Provide forward-looking insights to support business planning and structural positioning.
Governance, Reporting & ALCO
Prepare ALCO materials covering balance sheet trends, funding developments, FTP updates, and portfolio insights.
Ensure alignment with internal policies and governance frameworks.
Coordinate with relevant functions on audits, model reviews, and methodology enhancements.
