Backend / Cloud Engineer 

Overview: Design and manage the decentralized data lake and global replication infrastructure for eventual consistency at the edge. Manage the GovCloud-equivalent infrastructure. The stack is predominantly Node.js but uses Go for high-performance data replication.  

Years of Experience: 6+ years in Backend/Distributed Systems. 

Detailed Responsibilities: 

• Build and maintain the core API services in Node.js (TypeScript). 
• Deploy and optimize distributed data stores (e.g., Ditto) for eventual consistency across intermittently connected nodes. 
• Build and manage translation bridges (dGDX) for secure data flow between edge nodes and legacy central infrastructure. 
• Maintain cloud-side infrastructure (AWS/Azure) with a focus on data integrity and high availability. 
• Implement & manage robust CI/CD pipelines for deploying microservices to tactical nodes. 

Technical Requirements: 

• Expertise in distributed databases and CRDTs (Conflict-free Replicated Data Types). 
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, Go. 
• Advanced Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible) skills. 

Good to Have: 

• Experience with Big Peer or similar peer-to-peer data synchronization architectures. 
• Knowledge of data interoperability standards (JSON-LD, Protobuf).
