We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing backend services and APIs that power our applications. You should have strong experience with backend technologies, relational databases, caching, and event-driven systems.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 25 years of experience in backend development (or more for senior roles).
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs. Work with PostgreSQL for data modeling, query optimization, and database management. Implement caching strategies using Redis to improve performance and scalability. Develop and maintain backend logic using Node.js (Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks). Integrate and manage messaging/event-driven systems (Kafka is a plus). Ensure system reliability, fault tolerance, and high performance. Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features. Write clean, well-structured, and testable code with proper documentation. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, optimizing performance when needed.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in Node.js and backend application development. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, query tuning, transactions). Experience with Redis for caching, queues, or pub/sub. Solid understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and REST principles. Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus). Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills and debugging ability. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
