About MagellanMagellan is an AI-powered autonomous business operator for ecommerce companies. It connects sales, finance, advertising, customers, inventory and operations into one operating system — understanding what's happening across a business, spotting what needs attention, and preparing actions.
We're early. There's no fixed roadmap and no layers of management. The first team members will shape the product, the architecture and the company itself.
The roleYou'll build the integration platform that gets data into Magellan reliably — connectors to Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal, Gmail, Google Ads, Meta, Klaviyo, accounting platforms and more.
Calling an API is the easy part. The hard part — your job — is making the data stay complete, accurate and trustworthy over time: webhooks that arrive late, duplicated or out of order; syncs that fail halfway; three systems reporting three versions of the same order. You'll design how messy external data becomes reliable internal business events.
You'll work directly with the founder (product, UX, specs) and the technical lead (core architecture, engineering standards), with real ownership of your systems from design through production.
What you'll buildA reusable connector platform, not one-off integrations:
Strong backend experience (TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS) and real-world API integration work — ideally with ecommerce or payment platforms. You think in edge cases and failure scenarios, care about data correctness, and can own a system end to end.
You don't need a famous company on your résumé. We care about judgment, curiosity and whether you build well and learn fast. This is a role for someone who wants to grow with the company — in scope, compensation and leadership — not maintain someone else's software.

Tell us about an integration you built where the difficult part was not calling the API, but keeping the data correct and reliable. What went wrong, and how did you solve it
