Scope and General Purpose of Job:
You will ensure the smooth and successful operation of the bar at GASTON French Bistro & Bar, delivering exceptional beverage quality, service standards, and guest experiences in alignment with the hotel's standards, while maintaining profitability and cost efficiency.
Main Duties:
- Oversee the bar operations of GASTON French Bistro & Bar, ensuring service excellence, beverage quality, and guest experience meet the hotel's standards.
- Supervise the daily performance of the bartender team, including bar preparation, beverage production, quality control, and bar closing procedures.
- Welcome and serve guests with professionalism and courtesy, providing beverage recommendations that complement their meal and personal preferences.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen team, service staff, and the live band to ensure smooth and seamless service delivery.
- Train and guide bartenders on beverage knowledge, mixology skills, service standards, and drink presentation techniques.
- Manage beverage cost control, conduct regular stock counts, and ensure the quality and freshness of all beverage ingredients.
- Collaborate with chefs and the service team to create pairing menus and unique dining-and-drink experiences exclusive to GASTON.
- Review sales performance, expenses, and operational reports, and propose sales enhancement or promotional initiatives to management.
- Work closely with the Marketing Communications team to promote signature drinks, seasonal menus, and special bar events.
- Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints professionally, escalate to the management when necessary, and follow up to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Job Qualifications:
- Vocational Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of bar experience in premium restaurants or hotels (previous managerial experience is a strong advantage).
- Strong knowledge of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Pleasant personality with a positive attitude, professionalism, and a genuine passion for guest service.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team, handle challenges, and remain flexible in fast-paced environments.
- Good command of English (a third language is an added advantage).
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop signature drinks and support promotional activities.
- Strong skills in cost control, inventory management, and maintaining systematic stock procedures.
- Able to work under pressure and operate in shift rotations, including evenings and weekends.
- Completion of beverage-related training or certifications (e.g., WSET) will be considered a plus.
