Job Description

The Branch Head is responsible for leading the commercial and sales activities at branch level, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and customer growth targets. The role combines strategic execution with operational oversight, driving business development, key account management, and customer engagement while aligning with country and regional commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Sales Leadership

  • Develop and implement branch-level commercial plans aligned with area/country strategy.
  • Lead sales teams to achieve revenue, margin, and volume targets.
  • Monitor branch P&L performance, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Oversee tender responses, quotations, and pricing strategies in coordination with central pricing teams.

Customer Acquisition & Retention

  • Build and manage strong relationships with key local customers, shippers, and freight forwarders.
  • Drive customer retention through service excellence and tailored logistics solutions.
  • Represent the branch in negotiations and ensure adherence to contract terms.

Market Development & Competitor Analysis

  • Identify new business opportunities, sectors, and trade lanes to expand the branch's footprint.
  • Track local market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies.
  • Promote the company's value proposition in the local market through industry networking.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to deliver customer commitments.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between commercial and operational teams for end-to-end service delivery.
  • Escalate market/customer insights to Area and Regional leadership for strategic alignment.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor branch commercial and sales staff.
  • Set KPIs, monitor performance, and implement development plans. Foster a high-performance, customer-centric culture within the branch.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 710 years of experience in commercial/sales roles within logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping.
  • Proven experience managing sales teams and delivering revenue targets. Strong knowledge of local logistics market, customer base, and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability in P&L management at branch or unit level.
