Position: Business Analyst Commercial

Level: Deputy Department Manager

Work location: Bangkok, SM Tower Building

Job Purpose

  • The Digital Business Analyst is a strategic role that collaborates closely with business units to align organizational objectives with business strategies and bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
  • The Digital Business Analyst plays a vital part in driving innovation, optimizing processes, fostering a strong partnership with business functions and their senior leadership, and analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating requirements into actionable plans for project teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic alignment with business process owner and related stakeholders in your area.
  • Collaborate with commercial business units to understand their goals, challenges, and long-term strategies.
  • Align the commercial business objectives and initiatives with digital objectives and initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between commercial senior leadership, and digital team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial leaders at the manager levels.
  • Digital Demand Management
  • Identify digital opportunities for commercial process automation and digitization.
  • Ensure that digital-enabled commercial processes align with industry's best practices.
  • Support commercial demand request through standard digital demand process from end to end
  • Working with functional experts and solution architect within the digital team to identify whether business demand can be resolved with
  • current application,
  • enhancement of current application, pr
  • new application,
  • If the digital demand requires project level implementation,
  • translate business demand to digital functional and non-functional requirements, and validate the business users
  • if the project required external vendor support,
  • Develop the Request for Proposal (RFP) for vendor
  • Analyze and compare vendors proposals.
  • Manage vendor evaluation and selection.
  • Deliver tollgate deliverables as required by the digital demand process
  • Digital Application Development Before Go-Live

3.1 Collaborate with project manager to ensure project success not only from project standpoint (scope, budget, and timeline) but also product standpoint;

  • Use Centric View: Users get viable products in real business situations not just products that are built from requirement document but cannot

get the user's jobs done

  • Long Term View:
  • Products are designed for data integrity to ensure scalability, data quality for AI development, and integration with other applications in the future
  • Products are designed for standardization to ensure scalability, AI development, and integration with other applications in the future

3.2 Requirements Elicitation and Documentation

  • Take lead of supervise vendor to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business needs.
  • Translate high-level business goals into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Create comprehensive requirement specifications, use cases, and user stories.

3.3 Business Process Analysis

  • Analyze current business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Model and document existing and proposed business processes using techniques such as BPMN
  • Remark: BPMN stands for Business Process Model and Notation. It is a standardized graphical language used to model business processes. Its primary

purpose is to visually represent the flow of activities, decisions, and events within a business process so that both technical and non-technical stakeholders

can understand, analyze, and improve workflows.

3.4 Solution Evaluation and Recommendation

  • Take lead and collaborate with internal digital experts such as enterprise architecture team, security team, identity team, computing team, data/dev/ai team,

and workplace team, to evaluate the solutions and technologies, proposed by vendors or internal resource, to address business requirement (3.1) and

business process analysis (3.2)

  • Provide recommendations based on cost-benefit analysis and alignment with business goals.

3.5 Application Testing

  • Take lead in developing or Supervise vendor test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Take lead in or supervise vendors on SIT and UAT.

3.6. Application Documentation and Training

  • Take lead in or supper vendor in user manual creation, training materials development, and any other documentation required for end-users.
  • Take lead or supervise vendor in conducting training sessions and workshops for end-users.

3.7. Change Management and Communication for Application Adoption

  • Establish key users for new application
  • Co-Create the change management and communication plan with key users to ensure new application education and adoption
  • Co-Lead the change management and communication plan with key users
  • Co-Create the sustainable governance structure which Key user will help support the new application after going live.
  • Ensure end-users adopt new application
  • Ensure end-users are proficient in using new applications
  • Digital Application Maintenance Support after Go-Live

4.1 incident management

  • Supervise overall incident status and aging of responsible application
  • Monitor the incident and re-assign incident to right parties if needed
  • Service desk Team
  • Business Product Team (yourself)
  • Other digital teams
  • Application management service (outsourced vendor)
  • Investigate and accelerate if incident has no progress or has aging issues
  • Be responsible if incident requires BA as agent to solve issue
  • Analyze the statics on incident and find the preventive action to solve issues such as
  • Application enhancement
  • Education sessions for users
  • AI chatbot for users clarification

4.2 change request management

  • Supervise overall change request (CRs) status and aging of responsible application
  • Monitor the CRs and re-assign CRs to right parties if needed
  • Service desk Team
  • Business Product Team (yourself)
  • Other digital teams
  • Application management service (outsourced vendor)
  • Investigate and accelerate if CRs has no progress or has aging issues
  • Be responsible if CRs requires BA as agent to be demand coordinator
  • Register CR for the tollgate
  • Get high level solution & effort estimation from subject matter experts
  • Go through CR tollgate
  • Supervise the CR implementation of internal team and/or outsourced vendors
  • Analyze the statistics on CRs and find the preventive action to solve issues such as
  • Application enhancement
  • Education sessions for users
  • AI chatbot for users clarification

Education/Technical Skill/Training/Certification Qualifications

  • Must (We will not consider for interview if you don't have it)

Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Digital, or Data).

Good English communication (speak, listen, read, write)

Basic SQL or Python language coding

Good with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Experience

  • Must Have (We will not consider for interview if you don't have it)

Must have at least 8 years experience in digital or IT related roles as business analyst, product owner, product manager, project manager, or consultant.

Must complete at least 2 full cycles of digital projects as project team member or project manager; we prefer people who have digital project experience in at least one of these 3 areas

  • Enterprise Software Project such as SAP SD, CRM, RGM
  • Application and/or software development project
  • Data and/or AI project

Must have experience leading or being involved in areas below

  • Requirement gathering
  • Business process analysis
  • Business requirement and/or functional specification
  • Test Plan, Test Case and Test script
  • SIT and UAT
  • API or system integration
  • Change management & communication for user adoption

Must have at least 2 years experience in Incident and/or change request management

Must have at least 2 years experience in dealing with business process owner at least manager level

  • Should Have (We will interview with you even if you don't have it, but we will check your potential whether you can build it in the future)

Have digital project knowledge of data migration approach

Have digital project knowledge of cut over approach

Have digital project knowledge of handover approach

Have knowledge of data quality assessment and data cleansing approach

Have knowledge of cloud data platforms such as GPC, Azure, AWS

Have knowledge of data science, machine learning, and/or AI

Have understanding of business operation of retail, business products (OEM), or consumer products in food industry.
